Meteorite festival features its own stamp

Stamp collectors are invited to Haviland, KS for a special treat at the Meteorite Festival to be held on the Barclay College campus on July 8. One of the booths open to the public is sponsored by the Haviland Postal Service for the purpose of providing a cancellation stamp that features the festival event.

The stamp contains an elongated outline of the state of Kansas with the phrase "Ab Astris - From the Stars" and shows the Haviland crater in the south central part of the state. Three stars adorn the upper left hand portion. Beneath are the words "The Rock Stops Here!" and "Brenham Meteorite."
